STEM & Seniors bridges the generational gap, senior loneliness, and cognitive decline by empowering older adults through STEM education and digital literacy. Through hands-on workshops and interactive programs, we inspire lifelong learning and make technology accessible to seniors. Our mission is to foster connections, promote inclusion, and enrich lives through the power of innovation.
How We Started
STEM & Seniors was founded to acknowledge the various issues that were present in the community among seniors. Several issues that STEM & Seniors focused on were: senior loneliness and social isolation, cognitive decline, lack of knowledge on technology, etc.
Essentially, we realized that these issues could be resolved if ac
seniors were given the opportunity to learn more about technology or STEM-based topics, increasing cognitive activity and technological knowledge. Furthermore, being present in an environment with youth, decreases the chance of social isolation and allows seniors to interact with other individuals. Overall., t we decided to host and organize STEM-based workshops, leading us to today.
